Drug smuggling in Indian airports is a significant issue, with several cases being reported. Individuals attempt to smuggle drugs, such as cocaine and heroin, by concealing them in various ways, including inside personal belongings and even the human body.
According to Customs Officials, a woman from Kenya was arrested at the Delhi international airport for smuggling cocaine worth ₹38 crores.
The cocaine was hidden inside whiskey bottles that she was carrying. The woman was caught after arriving from Kenya via Addis Ababa on Monday.
Customs officials discovered 2.5 kg of cocaine concealed in three whiskey bottles inside a duty-free shop bag she was carrying.
The bag was given to her in Nairobi, and she was supposed to deliver it to someone in Delhi. The woman has been arrested, and the cocaine, valued at ₹38.05 crores, was seized. She appeared before a local court on Tuesday and has been sent to judicial custody.
