CRDA Clears 59 Tenders Minister Narayana

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has approved 59 tenders worth Rs 37,702.15 crore to take up infrastructural work in Amaravati. The works will start following Cabinet approval, which will meet on March 17.

After the meeting chaired by AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, the MAUD Minister shared with media that 20,000 workers will take part in development work.

In all, tenders were invited for 73 works worth Rs 48,012 crore which the Cabinet had already approved. Of these, 59 tenders worth Rs 37,702.15 crore were cleared by the CRDA.

The Letter of Intent will be issued soon, said Narayana. The tenders fall under two groups, of which 22 under CRDA are worth Rs 22,607.11 crore while the other 37 works fall under Amaravati Development Corporation Limited and are worth Rs 15,095.14 crore, the Minister revealed.

The CRDA also cleared land allotments to 31 organisations, he said. To 11 other organisations, the date for change to allotted lands was extended. The Minister added that the proposal for change of land for two organisations was also done.

The total cost of Amaravati is said to be Rs 64,000 crore. The Minister clarified that taxes will not be spent on the Capital. He said that of the total land acquired by CRDA, it has an excess of Rs 6,203 acres. Of this, 1900 acres will be given to different organisations, Narayana said.

The money generated either by mortgaging the land or selling it will be used for the construction of the Capital, the Minister explained.
