In Denver, there was a shooting incident near Ball Arena early Tuesday while people were celebrating the hometown Nuggets’ first NBA championship. Nine people were shot, including the suspect. Three of the victims are in critical condition, while the others, including the suspect, have non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting took place on Market Street, close to the arena where the Denver Nuggets had just won their first NBA championship the previous night. Fans had gathered in the streets to celebrate the victory.
According to the police, the shots were fired during a fight involving multiple people. The incident occurred about three-and-a-half hours after the game ended, in an area where a large crowd had gathered, although it had started to disperse when the shooting occurred.
The suspect was quickly identified and apprehended without any further trouble, as reported by police spokesperson Doug Schepman.
The investigation is still ongoing.
