TDP President CBN issued B-Forms to his candidates for the filing of nominations. CBN successfully completed the process of assigning tickets along with alliance parties. Now, candidates are filing their nominations in respective areas. Upon observing the TDP tickets, it is clear that some families are exceptions.
The rule of “one family, one ticket” is not applicable to some families in TDP. In the TDP government, both Narayana and Ganta served as ministers for five years. Former Minister of Municipal Administration Ponguru Narayana and Former Minister of Education Ganta Srinivasa Rao are relatives.
In the last assembly elections, Ganta won as MLA from the Visakhapatnam constituency, while Narayana contested from Nellore City and lost. Ayanna is one of Chandrababu’s closest friends.
He is re-contesting from Nellore City in the current election. Ganta has been inactive for some time but has recently become active in the party. This time, he is contesting the elections from Bhimili. Member of TDP Politburo and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, along with Former Chairman of TTD Board Putta Sudhakar Yadav, are relatives.
Both are active in TDP. While Yanamala has served as a minister and speaker several times, Sudhakar Yadav has acted as the chairman of TTD. Yanamala has not contested in Tuni since the last two elections. This time, he brought his daughter Divya to contest as his younger brother was losing there.
Sudhakar Yadav is in charge of Maidukuru in Kadapa district, and this time they are also competing from there. Additionally, this family secured another seat in Bonsa. Sudhakar Yadav’s son Mahesh Yadav is contesting as the Eluru Lok Sabha candidate.
Movie hero Balakrishna is the brother-in-law of party leader Chandrababu. Chandrababu’s son Lokesh married Balayya’s daughter Brahmani. Chandrababu will re-contest from Kuppam, and Balayya from Hindupuram in the next elections. Both of them are currently sitting MLAs for these two seats. Another son-in-law of Balayya is and late MVVS Murthy’s grand son Bharat Balayya married the younger daughter of Balayya. Bharath is contesting for Lok Sabha from Visakhapatnam on behalf of TDP.
The families of late TDP senior leader Kinjarapu Errannayudu’s two siblings are politically active in both districts. His daughter Adireddy Bhavani is currently the Rajamahendravaram City MLA. Her husband, Adireddy Vasu, is contesting from there in this election.
Bhavani’s aunt Raghavamma was formerly the mayor of Rajamahendravaram. Another ally of Errannayudu is former minister Bandaru Satyanarayanamurthy. His daughter was married to Erranna Naidu’s son Rammohan Naidu. Bandaru is in charge of the Pendurthi Constituency of Anakapalli District. He is contesting from Madugu as this seat went to Jana Sena in the alliance.
Former MLA of Nellore district Venkatagiri, former minister Anam Ramannarayana Reddy, and Kondreddy Vijayamma, who is active in TDP in the Kadapa district. Anam’s daughter is married to her son Ritish. Badwelu (SC) Constituency’s political affairs are completely handled by her family.
With the family’s recommendation, the TDP leadership decided to give the Badvelu ticket to a Dalit leader named Rosanna. The seat went to BJP in the alliance, but Rosanna has joined BJP and is contesting on behalf of that party. Anam switched to TDP after winning the last election from YCP. He was given the Atmakuru seat of Nellore district.
