Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao the other day announced the supply of Free Fertilizers to all the farmers in the state every year. The government will transfer 4000 Per acre directly to the bank accounts of the farmers.

It is estimated that One Crore Acres are being irrigated in Telangana and the bill to the state exchequer will be around 4000 Crore every year. The money will be deposited in the bank accounts in May every year. This scheme is a Political Masterstroke and is more than what it appears to be.
If there are no early elections, Telangana will have the Assembly elections in May 2019. KCR’s 4000 per acre to the farmers will also come at the same time. So, in a way, TRS government is going to pay money directly to the farmers during the election time and it is completely legal.
In a way, it is a government sponsored Votes buying for TRS. Also, this is a scheme which will cover the majority of the population in the state. It is almost like a Loan Waiver for Telangana and will take a heavy toll on the state exchequer.
