The Government of Telangana has been implementing strict measures to curb the growing drug culture in the state. The Telangana Police, along with the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGNAB), have been conducting regular raids to control drug use in Hyderabad and other regions of the state.
A few months ago, the police busted a drug racket where drug-infused chocolates were being sold. Now, another drug racket has been busted, where marijuana (ganja) is being sold in turmeric packets.
Excise Enforcement officials discovered this new method of drug distribution in the Dhoolpet area of Hyderabad, where ganja is sold in empty turmeric packets.
The officials arrested a woman named Neha Bhai, who was caught selling ganja in these packets. She tried to escape during the raid but police caught her and registered a case against her.
A total of 10 ganja-filled turmeric packets were seized by the police during the raid. The operation was led by Excise Enforcement DSP Tirupati Yadav and SI Nagaraj.
Apart from these raids, the police are also actively inspecting pubs in Hyderabad to identify instances of drug use and take necessary action against offenders.
