Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had marked Nagarjuna’s N Convention as ‘Unofficial construction’. It is known that 3.12 acres of Thammidikunta river was encroached for the 6.69 acres convention. Revenue officials have identified the illegal encroachment and sent a report to GHMC officials. The municipal corporation officials have also found out the construction did not have permissions from GHMC and also Nagarjuna is not paying any tax for GHMC for the past 5 years.
So, the GHMC officials had marked the construction as official and it may be even demolished. However GHMC officials’ corruption will also come under the scanner in this fiasco. As it is very interesting to know how they did not look in to the issues of this construction all these years which is located in the prime location of the city. We will have to see how Nagarjuna deals with this murky issue!
