Dharmavaram MLA Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy lost to the BJP candidate Satyakumar Yadav in this election and that has become a talking point on social media.

Kethireddy does Morning Walks in one village daily and asks people about their problems. He live streams it on Facebook and gained good traction on social media as a result. So, this defeat came as a surprise.
However, the locals and TDP leaders say there is no surprise in the loss.

“All that Morning Walks and Facebook Streams are PR stunts. The reality of Kethireddy is different,” they say.
Kethireddy is reportedly involved in the extortion of lands in his constituency and neighboring constituencies as well. Locals say he amassed 100s of acres of land like this.

“A cut in the corruption in all Government offices directly goes to Kethireddy. He also gets huge commissions in real-estate ventures and contracts,” the locals say.
He also built a lavish farmhouse and racing track flouting all rules with the ill-gotten money, they say. The media covered the farmhouse and exposed Kethireddy before the elections.
“Before elections, Kethireddy’s assets are worth only 5 Crore. He amassed as much as 500 Crores of ill-gotten money in the five years,” allege Paritala Sriram.
Sriram expected Dharmavaram seat but it went to the BJP.
“Since it is a BJP candidate, Kethireddy was defeated only with 3,500 votes. It would have been a humiliating defeat if it was Sriram,” the TDP cadre are saying.
