Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy presented a 240-crore-worth gift to his grandson Ekagrah Rohan Murthy. Narayana Murthy’s son Rohan Murthy and daughter-in-law Aparna Krishnan were blessed with a baby boy named Ekagrah in November last year.
Narayana Murthy decided to present 15 lakh shares to Ekagrah in his company. Reportedly, these shares are worth Rs. 240 crores. Murthy stated in his BSE filing that he gave Ekagrah a few per cent of his shares in the Infosys.
Narayana Murthy owns a total of 1.51 crore shares in Infosys. He has an equity of 0.4% in the company. Now, Ekagrah also possesses an equity of 0.04% in the Infosys. With this expensive present, Ekagrah joined the list of youngest millionaires in the country.
Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy have two children, Rohan Murthy and Akshata Murthy. Akshata was married to Rishi Sunak (the current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom). They have two daughters.
On the flip side, Rohan was married to TVS chairman Venu Srinivasan’s daughter Lakshmi in 2011. But they got divorced in 2015. Later, Rohan tied the knot to Aparna Krishnan in 2019.
