In the context of the first game, there is a lot of anticipation on the same and there is a huge demand for the tickets. With thousands of fans unable to get the tickets, there is a social media commotion that there is an ongoing scam regarding the tickets and allegations that the franchise is holding the tickets to sell them at a higher price later.

But a representative of the franchise has stated that there is no foul play in the ticket sales.

He commented that the capacity of the ground is 40,000 and nearly 15% of the tickets are to be given to Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and other local cricketing bodies. A sizeable number of tickets are to be given to IPL sponsors and CSK sponsors as well. A certain number of tickets are to be given to the Chennai city administration department. Then there are allocations for offline tickets and online ticketing which will eventually lead to a shortage of tickets.

Meanwhile, the queue for online tickets has reached over 1 lakh last night for a stadium of 40K people as fans patiently waited to get the tickets. It has to be seen how the franchise will deal with the tickets issue.
