The other day, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy toured the Raptadu constituency, where a YSR Congress Activist, Kuruba Lingamayya, lost his life in Faction Politics. YSR Congress claims that he has been murdered by the TDP cadres.
Jagan visited their family and later addressed the media there.
Concluding his speech, Jagan made controversial remarks on the Police Department.
He warned the Police that he would strip them naked and called them ‘Watchmen’ working for Chandrababu Naidu.
His comment – “పోలీసులు బట్టలూడదీసి నిలబెడతాం” did not go well with the department.
We have seen a few Police officers and the Associations responding to these remarks and are demanding an apology from Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Andhra Pradesh Police Officers’ Association (APPOA) demanded that Jagan withdraw his comments made against the Police. They say APPOA will take legal action against Jagan if he doesn’t withdraw and seek an apology.
There are instances in the previous Government when the TDP alleged that the Police were acting on the whims and fancies of the YSR Congress.
But then, neither Chandrababu Naidu nor Lokesh ever uttered a word that would degrade the prestige of the department.
Jagan is someone who is unapologetic. When he feels someone is not being respectful or abiding by him, he will not hesitate to take them head-on.
YSR Congress is a party that made its Social Media teams abuse the Judiciary, and later, when the High Court pressed cases against them. The party even lent legal support to them.
When they did not even mind antagonizing the judiciary, it is unlikely that they will pay any heed to the Police Department.
Also, Jagan is someone who will not spare his mother or sister if they come his way. It is unlikely that he will tender an apology for the Department.
Already, there are numerous cases pending on him, this will be another one if the Association presses one.
