Former Congress Minister Shankar Rao who filed a Petition in High Court and ensured CBI Investigation in Jagan‘s Corruption Cases has left the Congress Party. He is now joining Samajwadi Party and will be contesting the elections. Shankar Rao is elected as MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment in 2009.

He is the MLA from Shadnagar for four times previously before that. He is going to contest Shadnagar on Samajwadi Party Ticket. Congress denied him a ticket in 2014 elections as well as now. So, he is upset and decided to change the party. He already submitted his nomination papers to the Shadnagar Returning Officer as an Independent candidate.
He will now submit Samajwadi Party B-Form to become the Party’s Candidate. Shankar Rao tried his best to secure Congress party ticket by camping in New Delhi and pleaded his case with senior leaders of the party. But all his efforts to get ticket went in vain with the party leadership decided to field former MLA Ch Pratap Reddy from Shadnagar.
