Voting Lowest In Jubilee Hills: Parties Worried!

Low voter turnout in Jubilee Hills polling

Voter turnout in Jubilee Hills has been extremely low, raising major concern among political parties. According to the Election Commission, only 31.94 percent of registered voters had cast their votes by 1 pm.

Polling centres across the constituency appeared almost empty, worrying both the ruling Congress and BRS, which view this by-election as highly prestigious. Many residents of Jubilee Hills seemed to prefer staying indoors instead of stepping out to vote, even as polling in the nearby bastis progressed at a steady pace.

Despite several awareness campaigns by the Election Commission, voters appear reluctant to participate. Officials have urged citizens to come forward and exercise their voting rights, reminding them that every vote counts in determining the outcome.

Political analysts are closely watching whether the voting percentage will improve by evening or end at an all-time low. The sluggish pace has become a key talking point across media and political circles.

In comparison, several constituencies across India reported much higher turnout by 1 pm. Bihar recorded 47.62%, Budgaon in Jammu & Kashmir 34.01%, Nagotra 52.44%, Antola in Rajasthan 47.77%, Ghatsila in Jharkhand 54.08%, Dampa in Mizoram 56.35%, Nuapada in Odisha 65.56%, and Tarn Taran in Punjab 48.84%.

Even with these figures, Jubilee Hills continues to register one of the lowest voter turnouts in the country a worrying sign for both major parties and the Election Commission.
