Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who once said KCR was her only leader when she was in BRS, made a strong statement now. She said she will not return to BRS even if KCR personally asks her to come back.
Kavitha said daughters never hold grudges against their parents, but when they get hurt, it stays for long. She said she is ready to face her opponents, including KTR and KCR. Kavitha made it clear that she keeps the same distance from BRS as she does from Congress and BJP.
In a YouTube interview, Kavitha said her heart broke when both KTR and KCR stayed silent after Teen Maar Mallanna made offensive comments against her. That was the moment she realised politics mattered more to them than family bonds.
When asked why KTR condemned comments made against Samantha by Konda Surekha but not those against her, Kavitha said that silence hurt her the most. She added she hasn’t spoken to KCR since leaving the party but continues to talk to her mother every day.
Kavitha said starting a party needs both people and funds, and she is waiting for the right time. She became emotional recalling how the party abandoned her when the BJP sent her to jail. Only her family supported her then, she said.
Kavitha mentioned that many leaders like Eatala Rajender, Raghunandan Rao, Jupally Krishna Rao, and Tummala Nageswara Rao were sidelined after raising issues with KCR. If BRS had changed candidates in 20 seats, it wouldn’t have faced this downfall, she added.
She said it became a norm in BRS to ignore those who lost elections. “Even I was treated the same,” Kavitha said. KCR stopped meeting those who spent money and time contesting for the party, she revealed.
Kavitha also spoke about how even in their family, there was a difference between a son and a daughter. She said she had asked KCR and her mother to protect her, not just stand by her during her jail term.
Towards the end, Kavitha claimed that both Harish Rao and Santosh Rao have their own groups within the party. She warned that Harish Rao would one day backstab KTR and advised KTR to keep a close watch.
Kavitha concluded that the decision to make KTR the Chief Minister was taken as early as 2016, right after the municipal elections.
