Ranaut, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), competed in the Mandi (General) Lok Sabha constituency against nine other candidates. She emerged victorious over Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh by a margin of 72,088 votes.

After early trends showed her leading, Ranaut addressed her supporters, saying, “Mandi has rejected the insults against daughters. This is my birthplace, and I will continue to serve the people here. I’m not going anywhere; maybe someone else will have to leave.”

Despite Ranaut’s win, the BJP is struggling to secure a majority in the Lok Sabha, with projections showing them falling short of the 272-seat mark, potentially needing support from allies like TDP and JDU.

If these allies choose to side with the opposition coalition, INDIA, the BJP might not form the government, possibly dashing Ranaut’s hopes of becoming a minister.

Some Bollywood insiders are making jokes that if Ranaut were to become the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, she might delay the approval of films starring her past rivals, Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, due to her previous disputes with them.
