TDP’s Kavali Greeshma has become a sensation after Mahanadu in Ongole. After delivering a fiery speech, Greeshma slapped her thigh.
This did not go well with the YSR Congress ecosystem. Thigh slapping is usually associated with something valorous and courageous.
Blinded with male chauvinism and upper-caste pride, the ecosystem can not withstand a woman and someone from the scheduled caste doing something confined only to the men.
There have been mudslinging tweets and stories in the YSR Congress supporting media trying to assassinate her character. Among all the speeches of Mahanadu, only Greeshma has been targeted.
That is because of the intolerance towards women and scheduled castes.
Similar language and similar postures by YSR Congress leaders are cheered with whistles. Even something like that by Roja Reddy is also acceptable because she is an upper-caste woman.
But how can Kavali Greeshma, an SC woman do it? they feel.
Sad that this comes from a party that is doing Bus yatras in the name of Samajika Nyaya Bheri.
Kavali Greeshma is the daughter of former Speaker Prathibha Bharathi. If someone with a background is treated as such, imagine the plight of normal people of those classes.
