In a major escalation of political friction in Telangana, Kalvakuntla Kavitha has launched a direct assault on Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan, accusing him of illegally occupying water body land and demanding its immediate surrender to the government.
Speaking at a press conference under the banner of her newly launched independent political outfit, the Telangana Rakshana Sena, Kavitha laid out a series of serious allegations regarding the actor-politician’s land holdings in the state.
According to Kavitha, Pawan Kalyan purchased approximately 10 acres of land under survey number 706 in Telangana. She asserted that according to the final notifications of the state’s Irrigation Department, the entire 10-acre parcel is officially classified as Shikam land, meaning it sits entirely within the submergence area of a local water body known as the “Kodi Kunta” lake.
Kavitha further alleged massive inconsistencies in the property’s registration documents. She claimed the paperwork falsely declares only 3 acres as Shikam while misclassifying the remaining 7 acres as Magani (cultivatable wetland) to bypass environmental and land use restrictions.
Holding up what she claimed were official government data sheets, Kavitha demanded that the Telangana government step in and take swift regulatory action. Addressing Pawan Kalyan’s past public statements, where he reportedly stated he would gladly give back the land if any discrepancies were proven, she called on him to stop delaying.
“If you truly respect the law, return the 10 acres to the government immediately,” Kavitha stated. “Remove the fencing you installed around the property and clear out the heavy soil your team dumped into the lake bed, which is actively harming the local ecosystem.”
Beyond the legalities of the real estate transaction, Kavitha took sharp aim at Pawan Kalyan’s cinematic background to fuel regional sentiment. She pointed out that the highest box office collections and theatrical revenues for any big Telugu film, including his own, historically come from the Nizam territory.
She argued that the money spent on theater tickets by the youth of Telangana has directly funded the luxury cars, assets, and properties Pawan Kalyan enjoys today.
Kavitha used this financial link to question his right to speak down to local Telangana leaders, artists, and intellectuals, stating that his wealth was built on the patronage of the very people he is politically opposing.
This aggressive confrontation underscores a broader trend in the regional landscape. By targeting a prominent Andhra-based leader over local resources and land use, newly formed regional entities are heavily relying on the classic emotional anchors of the statehood movement to gain rapid political mileage and visibility before the next election cycle.
