The BRS High Command has suspended Kalvakuntla Kavitha for alleged anti-party activities. KCR’s daughter followed up with a fiery press meet and announced her resignation as MLC.
While many expected her to launch a new party during the presser, Kavitha chose to hold back the announcement for now.
In her statement, she made strong allegations of corruption and anti-party behaviour against Harish Rao and Santosh Rao. However, she attempted to shield KCR and KTR, suggesting these actions took place without their knowledge.
Political observers and the public alike find this claim hard to accept. The idea that KCR remained unaware of such serious matters is seen as implausible both politically and legally.
Meanwhile, an interesting update was shared from BRS sources. Reportedly, KCR did not watch Kavitha’s press meet. Senior leaders including KTR, Jagadish Reddy, and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy were said to be at the farmhouse for the past three days, discussing key issues like the Kaleshwaram report, the ongoing CBI inquiry, and Kavitha’s outburst.
At the time of the presser, however, reports suggest KCR left the discussions to visit his agricultural fields—possibly signalling disinterest in Kavitha’s statements.
Yet, political insiders believe this is more about optics. Kavitha’s press meet is a major political development that directly concerns the BRS. It is highly unlikely KCR would truly ignore such a serious issue.
As a father, watching his daughter take such a public stand would undoubtedly be emotionally painful, regardless of political equations. Whether or not she succeeds in politics going forward, her press conferences may continue to be a source of personal and political discomfort for KCR.
So far, neither KCR nor KTR has responded to Kavitha’s allegations. While KCR may choose silence, political circles expect KTR to speak sooner or later.
