Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao seems to be looking for a role at the Center. He is expecting a hung government at the Center and is hoping to play a crucial role with his MPs. TRS is expecting nothing less than 16 MPs with another MP going to its partner, MIM.
“NDA is unlikely to get more than 175 seats and UPA has no chance beyond 120 seats. We are winning 16 seats for sure and will play a crucial role in the next coalition government coming at the Center. With our strength in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, we will surely get Four Cabinet Berths,” KCR told the party leaders.
Interestingly, KCR has stopped talking about his Federal Front after the elections. In fact, the front looks shapeless since the start. In all probability, he will support the NDA and enter the cabinet. He has no chance of supporting the UPA because Congress is the main Opposition Party for him in Telangana.
However, talking about the number of cabinet berths TRS will be getting without the clarity on election results is just like how YSR Congress readied CM Jagan Mohan Reddy Name Plate. Furthermore, KCR who called Narendra Modi a fascist five years ago may become Modi’s friend. Chandrababu Naidu who contested 2014 elections in an alliance with BJP has become Modi’s bitter rival.
