Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is delighted with the sector-specific budget tabled by Arun Jaitley. Several schemes rolled out in Union Budget match those being implemented by Telangana government. KCR opines that this gives the state government an advantage to access funds from the sector-specific budget.

Officials were asked to draft proposals for Central funds for housing, irrigation, agriculture, drinking water schemes, skill development, optic fiber network, cashless economy, roads and urban infra projects. The Union government has allocated huge funds to supply drinking water which will benefit Telangana’s Mission Bhagiratha. Central Funds can be tapped for Telangana’s Internet to All mission as there are huge funds available. Telangana government will lay optical fiber cables along with Bhagiratha pipelines.
Telangana Government’s 2BHK Scheme for the poor will also get a big push as the Center has allocated huge funds for housing and also announced several incentives for its housing for all scheme. The state government plans to build 2.70 lakh 2BHK houses for the poor in the state this year.
