Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao will perform Bhoomi Pooja for the new Secretariat on 27th of this month. Some or all of the existing Secretariat Buildings will be razed down for the construction. KCR who did not come to the Secretariat for the last two years will come today and oversee the arrangements.
Owing to the beliefs of bad Vaastu, KCR did not come to the Secretariat and constructed Pragathi Bhavan from where he is working since then. The Project is expected to cost 500 Crore and very soon, Global Tenders will be floated for the same. The target is to complete the construction in Nine to Twelve Months time.
KCR is keen on inaugurating the new Secretariat for Ugadi the next year. KCR is also contemplating the idea to give the contract to Shapoorji Pallonji on nomination basis. The Construction Major, Shapoorji Pallonji completed the construction of the Pragathi Bhavan in just Six Months.
So, KCR is keen on giving the contract to the company. But giving such a huge project on nomination basis may attract criticism.
