Controversial actress Kangana Ranaut known for supporting the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has officially joined the BJP party. She will also run in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
The BJP announced her candidacy for the Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) parliamentary seat, replacing the current MP Kishan Kapoor. This move wasn’t surprising, as Kangana has hinted at a political career for a while. Kangana celebrated her nomination by visiting temples in Himachal Pradesh.
The Mandi seat has seen significant competition between Congress and BJP over the years. Congress won three times between 2009 and 2021, while BJP won twice in 2014 and 2019.
After the unfortunate death of BJP’s Ram Swaroop Sharma, Congress won the seat in the 2021 by-elections. Currently, BJP holds three out of four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh.
Kangana has been involved in many controversies in the past decade. She was involved in the drug case, extramarital affairs with Hrithik Roshan and Aditya Pancholi, and many other issues. Now she is portraying herself as a pious soul dedicated to Sanatan Dharma.
Kangana is in a dicey situation right now. BJP has given her a tough seat to fight. And even if she wins, people will say she won due to Modi’s name. And if she loses, people would blame her for defeating Modi’s party. She is fighting a losing battle.
Kangana expressed her gratitude on Twitter/X, stating her unconditional support for the BJP and her excitement to serve as their candidate. She aims to be a dedicated party worker and a trustworthy public servant.
