BJP Clear About Modi Continuing in Power!

There has been ongoing speculation about whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi would step down, now that he has turned 75. Although the BJP does not have a written rule on retirement age, the RSS has long maintained that leaders should retire by this milestone.

Political analysts have frequently debated the question of Modi’s future. Several TV discussions have focused on whether he would voluntarily step aside and hand over leadership to a successor in the near future.

Some have suggested that Modi might move into a mentor role, paving the way for figures like Nitin Gadkari, Yogi Adityanath, Amit Shah, or even Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to lead the next phase.

However, the BJP seems to have put these rumours to rest. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during a recent media interaction, declared that Modi will remain BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate not just in 2029, but also in 2034, 2039, and even 2044.

Singh added that PM Modi would only retire after achieving the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. This is the first time a senior BJP leader has publicly addressed Modi’s retirement timeline so directly.

So, unless Narendra Modi himself decides to step down, it appears he will continue to lead both the BJP and the country for the foreseeable future.
