The election polling is less than 48 hours away in Telugu states and the campaigning will end this evening. Generally, this two-day period sees a surge in cash flowing through all constituencies.
During this time, Election Commission (EC) officials will maintain high vigilance, conducting extensive search operations across the state.
Meanwhile, the officials were met with a shocking surprise this morning when around Rs. 7 crore cash was discovered in an overturned mini truck in Andhra Pradesh.
Getting into details, the officials found the cash in a Ashok Leyland mini-truck that had overturned on the Vijayawada-Vishakapatnam highway, in the East Godavari district.
According to reports, the mini good carrier, carrying the cash was going from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam. Midway, it hit a Tata truck on the highway. The accident resulted in the overturning of the mini-truck.
Reportedly, the police has arrived at the scene and taken both drivers into custody. The officials have seized the money and are investigating its source.
The Assembly and Lok Sabha election polling in Andhra Pradesh will be held on May 13. On the same day, Telangana will undergo the Lok Sabha polling.
