Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had decided to formulate additional incentives to those investing in the backward Uttarandhra region. These incentives will be applicable from Srikakulam to East Godavari districts. The state government had concluded that the center is unlikely to give Special Status and so is announcing slew of incentives itself.

Some of the fees levied by the state government for various works were either cut down or totally removed. The state government will very soon announce some more incentives very soon. Similar proposals are also in consideration for the backward districts in Rayalaseema region as well.
The state had pinned high hopes on the Special Status promised during the bifurcation. BJP which demanded 10 years of Special Status back then when Congress promised it for five years, did not keep up its promise. They are evading the promise citing various technical reasons.
