Modi’s Insta Reels @ Night: Really Working Or Not?

Narendra Modi Instagram campaign

The prime minister of India Narendra Modi has started to make a big push to connect with the younger generation of the Indian population by posting stuff actively on Instagram.

After the Delhi protest, he understood that the younger generation is not with the BJP top leadership and there is a lot of vacuum to be filled up. So he has started on this new campaign where he is posting Instagram reels late in the night.

Generally, the younger population is very active on Instagram in the night, and this could have warranted Modi to change his social media strategy.

For the last couple of weeks, Modi has posted nearly half a dozen videos at around 11 PM in the night, including a wide range of topics.

These include videos about connecting with youth by labelling him as a friend of the younger generation. And also the prospect of imposing strict regulations against question paper leaks.

In terms of engagement, these videos are going viral like anything, and there is this one video that has even crossed 300 million views already.

But when it comes to effective connectivity with the younger population, which is the most important thing here, this is a question that will linger for a long time. Whether the younger generation will be satisfied enough with these Instagram reels, or if they’d would be demanding action on the ground is a big question.

For now, Modi is starting to make a big push with this late night Instagram campaign and only time will tell if he would be actually successful in this attempt.
