Hare Krishna Movement (HKM), a breakaway faction of Iskcon is planning a huge temple in the upcoming capital of Andhra Pradesh which will be a major tourist destination there. The project estimated at 350 Crore is brought to the notice of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who seemed to be very impressed. He asked the board members to come up with a unique design in the World to attract visitors across the land.
Authorities are busy identifying the land for the temple and all the funds necessary for the temple will be pooled in by HKM itself from its huge donor base across the World. The temple premises will also have a huge kitchen which will serve mid-day meal to at least a lakh people every day.
HKM already runs Akshaya Patra, an NGO which supplies midday meals to schools across the country from centralised kitchens set up at various places. The NGO also supplies meals to about 500 schools in Telangana and a few in AP.
