No Objection If Jagan Sits In Vizag: BJP

GVL Narasimha Rao

BJP Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao addressed a gathering in Srikakulam, emphasizing the ongoing debate about Andhra Pradesh’s capital. He stated that no one has the authority to declare Visakhapatnam as the capital; it is a matter currently under court jurisdiction.

Mr. Rao said, “If Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy still wants to come and sit in Visakha, he can. No one will have any objections.”

A few weeks ago, YSRCP ministers had said that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would shift his office to Visakhapatnam from its present location by October 24, coinciding with the Dussehra festival. But this week Jagan announced postponement of his plan to shift his camp office and other administrative offices to Visakhapatnam to December.

This shift in December if at all happens would be just three months before the AP elections. This delay appears to be a strategic move to create a perception just before the elections, especially among the people of Uttarandhra, that a capital shift has been made.

It’s important to note that a PIL has already been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the establishment of the chief minister’s camp office in Visakhapatnam, making the situation more complex. But it looks like the BJP is supporting Jagan in this issue indirectly.
