The high level meeting of chief secretaries of both the Telugu states with the Secretary, Union Ministry of Transport and Highways India was held at Transport Bhavan in New Delhi on Friday yielded no positive result over the sharing of RTC assets.
Andhra Pradesh wants all the assets of the RTC located in Hyderabad including the Bus Bhavan, RTC hospital at Tarnaka and nearly 13 other institutions to be divided between both the states on population basis and Andhra Pradesh get a share of 58 per cent in it. While Telangana government stands for division on the basis of their territorial presence which means majority assets will go to the newest state.
As both the states stick to their agenda, center is said to be thinking of buying time so that it might not take the blame for discrepancies. The center also clarified to both the states that issues will be resolved amicably and early only if the two states arrive at a conclusion over contentious issues
