Coronavirus has infected the third MLA in Andhra Pradesh. Rapthadu MLA Thopudurthi Prakash Reddy is tested Positive for the contagious virus. Sources say that his Gunman and two family members were also tested positive for the virus.
The officials are tracing the close-contacts of the MLAs. Already the samples of Sixteen members were taken and the reports are yet to arrive. The MLA is in Home Quarantine and is being treated. Previously, S Kota MLA Srinivasa Rao and Kurnool district Kodumuru MLA, Sudhakar were also tested positive.
Interestingly, all these MLAs are of the Ruling YSR Congress Party. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh had recorded 16,097 Coronavirus cases so far. In the last 24 hours, the state had recorded a whopping 845 Positive cases, among which 33 are from the people of other states and foreign returnees. The remaining 812 cases are local cases.
The contagious virus has claimed 198 lives. The state is consistently clocking 700-850 cases per day for the last week or so.
