AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi made striking comments after the Jubilee Hills by election. To the surprise of many Telangana voters, he said they supported Naveen Yadav as a candidate and not the Congress party.
Owaisi said that several people assumed otherwise. He also clarified that AIMIM had no issues with the BRS. He stated that both KCR and himself were acting in the best interests of their respective parties.
Naveen Yadav won the Jubilee Hills seat with a majority of 25,000 votes over Maganti Sunitha. Analysts say support from AIMIM helped him secure all Muslim votes, which played a key role in his victory.
After the win, Naveen Yadav’s father Chinna Srisailam Yadav visited Owaisi at his Darussalam office and felicitated him grandly. The gesture drew attention across political circles.
Political analysts are now discussing Owaisi’s fresh statements. They note that Naveen Yadav had earlier contested on an MIM ticket but lost at that time.
