Palamaneru: Amarnath Reddy Regains Hold

Palamaneru: Amarnath Reddy Regains HoldPalamaneru constituency has come into existence after the delimitation in 2009. N Amarnath Reddy won twice in the three elections that happened after that.

In 2009, he won on the TDP ticket and on the YSR Congress ticket in 2014. After the 2014 election, he defected to TDP and became a minister in Chandrababu’s cabinet.

In 2019, he lost the election with a whopping 32K votes difference. Amarnath Reddy is the most active leader of TDP in Rayalaseema since then.

Chittoor is the weakest district for TDP after the 2019 elections. Minister Peddireddy concentrated more on the district and worked hard to weaken TDP in the district.

But along with Kuppam and Nagari, Palamaneru is the constituency where TDP is clearly ahead in the district.

Amarnath Reddy being very accessible to the people and sitting MLA Venkat Gowda being totally absent is helping his cause.

Also, Amarnath Reddy is actively conducting anti-government programs like Baadude Baadhudu to keep the cadre on their toes and the general public informed about the Government’s failures.

TDP internal surveys also indicate Amarnath Reddy’s easy victory if elections are to be held today. YSR Congress is likely to change the candidate for 2024.
