Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan was so active until one month ago. We have seen him crisscrossing the state and being in the news for all possible reasons.

But then, things changed drastically for the last few weeks.

It all started with Pawan Kalyan cornering the TTD Chairman and Board over the Stampede issue. He demanded that the Chairman should tender an apology. Initially, the Chairman reacted sharply but later apologized.

We have seen Nara Lokesh also say that the apology is Pawan Kalyan’s personal opinion and hinted that Pawan Kalyan’s opinions need not always match the Government’s.

And then, there is the demand for Nara Lokesh to be made the Deputy Chief Minister.

For a few days, the TDP leaders were continuously demanding that Lokesh be made the DCM.

Janasena Supporters felt insecure and were at loggerheads with the TDP and its cadre on social media.

Chandrababu Naidu had to intervene and stop the discussion for now. The party had given a directive that no one is allowed to talk on the issue.

But hours after the directive came, Industries Minister TG Bharat in Zurich announced that Lokesh will be the next Chief Minister no matter who agrees or not.

That statement fueled the discussion further.

Finally, we do not know what happened. Pawan Kalyan released a letter for Janasena Supporters to behave.

In the letter, Pawan Kalyan mentioned that he is not someone who runs after positions and is focused only on the state and the people.

He asked the party supporters not to talk about the issues that weaken the alliance and the Government. Closing the letter, he said they would discuss the party’s future plans on March 14th on the occasion of the Party Formation Day.

Janasena Supporters were disappointed with this letter but it ended the discussion for now.

Surprisingly, Pawan Kalyan has stayed low since then. Except for the routine administrative issues, Pawan Kalyan is not much in the news these days.

And at the same time, Nara Lokesh has become active since the Davos meet. He later introduced WhatsApp Governance, which was the first in the country.

After announcing a bailout package, we have seen Union Steel Minister, HD Kumaraswamy say in the media that Nara Lokesh relentlessly tried to stop the privatization of Vishaka Steel Plant.

Now Lokesh is in the National Capital meeting various Union Ministers.

In the last couple of weeks, Lokesh held three Pressmeets – Sakshi defamation case issue, WhatsApp Governance, and today’s Pressmeet in Delhi. All the Pressmeets have got so much of media focus and public attention.
