Perni Nani is caught in a fresh controversy, this time linked to the Ranganayakulu temple land in Machilipatnam. Reports reveal that he started acquiring endowment land in 2007, claiming that funds were needed for dhoop and deepa seva for the temple deity.
An auction was conducted by endowment officials for land at Devuni Cheruvu near the bypass road, and it was sold at a very low price. Nani and his associates allegedly spread rumours about a high-tension wire running through the land, making it appear unsuitable for resale.
They acquired the 5.33-acre land at just Rs 1200–1300 per square yard, paying Rs 2.8 crore in total. Today, the same land reportedly costs Rs 40,000–50,000 per square yard, making it extremely valuable.
Between 2022 and 2023, Nani allegedly registered parts of the land in the names of his family members and is said to be preparing to register the remaining portion too. He is also accused of removing the high-tension wire during his tenure in power.
With these revelations now coming to light, many are waiting to see what action will be taken next and how this alleged land scam will impact Nani’s political standing.
