The political scenario in Khairatabad seems quite complex with family members being associated with different political parties. Vijaya Reddy, aiming to continue the political legacy of P. Janardhan Reddy, has been navigating a challenging path through various parties.
Her brother, Vishnu, leaving Congress to join BRS adds another layer of complexity, especially when he is supporting a BRS candidate against his sister who is contesting from Congress.
Family divisions in politics are not uncommon, and the electoral dynamics can often lead to such situations. The upcoming election in Khairatabad will indeed be a testing time for the P. Janardhan Reddy family, as it involves clashes between siblings supporting different political ideologies.
The positive reputation and following Vijaya Reddy has built during her tenure as a corporator, along with the broader political context in the state, may influence the outcome in this constituency.
Aiming to continue the legacy of PJR, Vijaya Reddy has set her sights on Khairatabad. To achieve that goal, she first joined YCP and contested the 2014 elections.
But as she faced defeat in that election, she later joined BRS and contested as Khairatabad corporator. She won as corporator from that division twice in a row. Vijaya Reddy worked with Danam Nagender who was a sitting MLA from the same party.
Being in touch with people as a corporator, having a good following among the youth and responding to any danger like her father, Vijaya Reddy was recognized as a daring and dashing lady.
It is said that the positive atmosphere of the Congress party in the state is also a factor that will bring her together.
