Power cuts make a comeback to HyderabadWith Hyderabad burning even before the arrival of Summer, the Power demand in Hyderabad soared up all of sudden. Intermittent power cuts made a comeback to the city. While the power distributor claim the power cuts due to the maintenance. But the fact is that the increased power demand is the reason for the power cuts.

The state government which claims to have brought uninterrupted power supply to the city, is imposing the power cuts to far flung areas so as to avoid media glare. Many places are seeing power cuts between 15 minutes and two hours during the day. To make things worse, all these power cuts are not scheduled and people are not informed.

The cited demand for this month is average consumption of 41 million units a day which is few million units higher than last year. But the demand already crossed the estimation and is peaking at 46 million units in the second week. The demand is expected to touch 57 million units in May where as the city’s consumption is 53 million units last May.
