Several pre-poll surveys have been suggesting YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s defeat in the AP General Elections this time. Popular political strategist Prashant Kishor also expressed the same opinion and analysed his point of view.
Kishor opined that one must have done series of blunders to experience a big defeat after witnessing a landsling victory in the last elections.
He stated that Jagan stated treating himself as a provider. He said, “In democreacy, people elect their leaders, not kings/providers.”
“Jagan thinks that Andhra people only need Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and they don’t care about anything else, like infrastructure, educational policies, development of the state or even about the capital city of their state,” stated Kishor.
He went on say that welfare in absence of aspiration has got no meaning. He pointed out it as the major factor that differentiates a leader and a provider.
Kishor compared Jagan’s mindset to that of kings in the past where they think that providing basic welfare schemes is enough for people’s survival. He said that Jagan thinks that he gets votes by only giving these welfare benefits every month.
Kishore said that Jagan Mohan Reddy will be shocked by people’s verdict which will be out on June 4.
He also condemned YCP’s bragging about implementing English medium in government schools, stating that altering mediums won’t reform the education system or infrastructure. Additionally, he remarked that Jagan’s volunteer system had dismantled the Panchayati Raj system in the entire state.
