TDP leader BTech Ravi, husband of Maareddy Lata Reddy who won the Pulivendula ZPTC polls on Thursday, made sharp remarks against YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy. He recalled how Jagan often uses the phrase “God’s script” and said it applied here too. Jagan had 11 seats in Assembly elections, and now, in Pulivendula and Ontimitta, there were 11 contestants. Losing without deposit in Pulivendula was God’s script, he said.
BTech Ravi claimed that just a day earlier, Jagan had spoken about him disrespectfully. He added that if he revealed what YSRCP cadre told him over the phone, Jagan would not be able to bear it. He credited TDP’s Pulivendula win to Chandrababu Naidu’s good governance, growing anger within YSRCP ranks, and the conduct of free and fair elections. He said that when people are denied the right to vote for decades, such results are inevitable.
He revealed that many YSRCP cadre actually supported TDP, wanting to bring Jagan’s arrogance down. They encouraged him to proceed democratically and promised full backing. According to him, Jagan had ruined them for commissions, causing strong resentment. BTech Ravi said TDP would now work to fulfil all election promises at the mandal level before approaching the people for the Pulivendula Assembly seat.
Calling it the victory of people tired of violent politics, BTech Ravi said the result was a clear rejection of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership.
