Telangana government had given a “Hero’s Welcome” to PV Sindhu who bagged a Silver Medal in the just concluded Rio Olympics. This welcome is meaning more for Telangana State and Telangana State Government than how it appears superficially. Sindhu is actually a settler who was born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

But then Telangana government lapped and owned her like anyone from Telangana and encouraged her in all possible ways. The state government had announced 5 Crore Reward, a Government Job and 1000 square yards of land to the shuttler. This comes from KCR who would not tolerate the sight of settlers earlier.
This comes from a government which tried to impose a condition that only those are from Telangana whose families are settled in the region before 1956 when the United State came into effect. Settlers in the state will be very much relieved with this change in the government and will be more assured now. Settlers have already imposed faith on Telangana government by voting for TRS in GHMC elections.
Distractors of TRS government were saying that the state government is owning the victorious. The announcement of rewards more than Andhra Pradesh government drew flak for the unnecessary rat race but KCR as always, would not worry about that until people of the state and settlers living here are happy and comfortable with that.
