Vizag is set to welcome another major global player. Google-associated Raiden Infotech India Limited plans to invest Rs 87,000 crore ($10 billion) to build a 1000 MW AI-powered data centre in the city.

The company has submitted a proposal to the Andhra Pradesh government, promising to complete its first project within two and a half years. A team of senior officials is reviewing the proposal and will soon decide on the incentives to be offered.

This comes after news that Google is setting up Asia’s largest data centre in Vizag with an investment of Rs 57,000 crore, and Sify is also building one worth Rs 16,000 crore.

Raiden Infotech has requested the Chandrababu Naidu government to allocate three land parcels for its data centres. The company aims to start construction by March next year and begin operations by 2028.

For the three proposed data centres, Raiden will need about 2100 MW of power, which will be sourced from local electricity providers.

Raiden, based in Singapore, is part of APAC Investment Holdings Company, a major shareholder in Raiden Infotech India Limited. It will raise funds as an associate company of Google LLC. Raiden has also informed the Andhra Pradesh government that it is a publicly listed company on the Nasdaq stock market.

This project positions Vizag as one of Asia’s emerging data and AI power hubs, drawing major global investments into Andhra Pradesh’s technology infrastructure.
