Revanth Reddy Appears in Court Second Time As CM

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appeared before the Special Court for People’s Representatives in Nampally with regards to several cases about violating Model Code of Conduct during the last Assembly elections.

The cases are from the time Revanth Reddy was chief of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. Back then, FIRs were registered at Begum Bazaar, Nalgonda Two Town and Kowdipally in Medak.

The cases pertained to his views on reservation policies during campaigning. This is the second time the CM has appeared in person after he came to power in December, 2023, to comply with the judicial procedures.

The Court recorded the CM’s statement in which he denied the charges. Revanth Reddy said the FIRs were politically motivated and vindictive.

For quite some time, the Congress party alleged that the cases were deliberately filed by BRS as a part of political vendetta during the election season.




The Court will hear the case and give a judgement on June 12. According to legal advisors, the case is likely to set an example of how cases involving political figures are handled.
