It has been a long time since any South Indian chief minister had the courage to oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi and publicly speak against him. But the case of Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy is different.
Revanth Reddy sat in front of the press today and he came out all guns blazing against Prime Minister Modi.
Revanth Reddy question the need for the government of India to reject the permission for his visit to the United States. He pointed out that the Ministry of external affairs came in the way of his United States visit, saying it is for political reasons.
Revanth hit back at the duality of the India government saying that Gujarat chief minister had visited the United States very recently to present the Gujarat development project.
“When the chief minister of Gujarat had no problem in going to the US, why was I restricted? I wanted to present the Telangana rising 2047 vision in the USA.” Revanth said.
The Telangana chief minister pointed out that this is not just disrespect to him as the chief minister of the state, but also to the entire 4 crore population of Telangana.
Revanth was very explosive, but also straightforward with his speech against the Prime Minister as he stated all the hard facts that are needed to present his case.
This explosive conference from the Telangana CM comes shortly after the Ministry of external affairs permitted his visit to the United Kingdom, but cancelled it midway just before Revanth was supposed to travel to US. This incident appears to have fired up Revanth Reddy big time.
