YS Jagan Mohan Reddy owned Sakshi media aired numerous articles about Chief Secretary, SP Tucker not in good terms with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu. Those articles said SP Tucker is worried about legal validity of various proposals of the Capital Construction and opposed the Chief Minister’s moves about the project.

But things seem to be the other way. SP Tucker is going to retire on August 31st. If Sakshi’s articles are all true, Naidu should get rid of Tucker but the Chief Minister is likely to write to the Centre requesting permission to extend the period of Mr Tucker’s service. If center permits, Tucker will continue six more months as Chief Secretary, after August.
Previous Chief Secretary, IYR Krishna Rao retired on January 31st this year, Special Chief Secretary A.K. Parida was the most senior officer eligible to get the Chief Secretary post. But CM Naidu instead appointed Tucker as Chief Secretary.
