For the first time in the history of Andhra Pradesh after the Bifurcation, Salaries were delayed for the Government Employees. Widespread rumors are that the state is reeling under severe financial crunch and could not mobilize the funds for the salaries and Pensions.
We do not know the actual truth but after the news spread like a wildfire, Finance Department went on to explain that funds are not the reason for the delay and the delay has happened due to a technical glitch in RBI’s e-Kuber which disperses the salaries.
The government claims that all pension payments were cleared, and few salaries files were paid in full by the afternoon of today. The remaining will be completed very soon. Reports are that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is very angry at this development.
Usually, the failure to disburse salaries is considered a massive failure on the part of any government.
