A stampede at an NRI TDP program in Guntur took away the lives of three women. This is the second incident at a TDP event in less than one week.
It is unfortunate that people lost lives and is truly shocking.
This has triggered a political slugfest by YSR Congress. There is an orchestrated campaign on social media and media minutes after the incident blaming Chandrababu and calling him all sorts of names by invoking some stupid sentiments.
The Ruling Party is doing what it is naturally expected of doing. TDP is claiming that the lack of enough police deployment is the reason for this.
Some are even claiming these incidents as conspiracy. It may be the failure of the Police or a conspiracy, but the fact remains that people were killed at TDP events.
Even if it is a failure of the police or a conspiracy, things would be the same for the next fifteen months before the elections. TDP can not afford to let such things happen.
The propaganda can not be allowed to happen and at the same time, the Government should not find a reason to stop Chandrababu Naidu from going to the people.
TDP has experience in conducting big political events with utmost care and ease. We have seen Mega events like Yuva Gharajana, Simha Gharjana, Mahanadus, etc happen without an incident for around 40 years.
The party should establish a Parallel system to ensure that Roadshows and events going further will happen without any tragedies. A volunteer or a crisis management team should be maintained to smoothly organize such meetings going forward.
Such a system will have practical problems and is also a huge financial burden. But there is no way out from here. The huge pool of TDP’s organizational strength will also come in handy at this time.
Chandrababu Naidu’s meetings are attracting unimaginable crowds. These crowds will keep swelling as the anti-incumbency increases further in the coming days. Establishing a Parallel system is the only way forward from here.
