The untimely arrest of Chandrababu Naidu is the burning topic in Andhra Pradesh politics now. There’s a widespread campaign against this arrest with several protests not just in Andhra Pradesh but also in Hyderabad.
Now, YCP rebel MLA from Nellore, Kotam Reddy Sridhar Reddy has made an interesting revelation in the pretext of Chandrababu’s arrest.
“An independent organisation held a survey on the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu. The sample size is 700 people. And 90% of them were against the arrest of Chandrababu. Only 63 people agreed with it and some of them also opined that the manner in which the arrest was carried out wasn’t right” Kotamreddy pointed out.
Notably, Nellore is a stronghold for YCP as the party 10/10 MLA seats here in 2019. If the situation in Nellore itself is such that 90% of people are against the arrest, then this gives an indication of the situation on other parts of Andhra Pradesh.
There’s also a widespread talk that the arrest of Chandrababu and the way in which it was carried out paints a bad image for YCP. The aforementioned survey clearly implies the same.
