Telugu Desam Party has agreed to leave the Medak Parliament seat to Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming bielection. It is known that TDP and BJP went together in the last elections and BJP got to contest from Medak then. The Medak Parliament seat fell vacant due to the resignation of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. KCR won from both Medak Lok Sabha and Gajwel Assembly segment, retained the Gajwel seat and went on to become the CM.
It is said that the decision to contest together was taken in the meeting of Amit Shah and Chandra Babu Naidu. Telangana TDP leaders and BJP State President Kishan Reddy were also present at the meeting. It is said that TDP leaders brought to the notice of Amit Shah about the statements of Kishan Reddy in the media over TDP-BJP alliance. Amit Shah reportedly told Kishan Reddy that the party high command wants both the parties to work together. Chandra Babu told Amit Shah that he would assign incharges to every mandal of Medak to ensure a win for BJP.
