Donakonda – a place which do not have any media significance came to scene all of sudden in the wake of state division. Few News Channels gave extensive publicity to the place saying it will be the next capital of Andhra Pradesh. Suddenly real estate bloomed in the area and land prices shot up by several folds. Sources in Donakonda say several YSR Congress leaders have invested 100s of Crores buying lands there hoping that capital will come there since they are confident of their party forming the government.
But once Telugu Desam Party formed the government, their hopes are fully shattered. Knowing fully about why YSRCP is interested in Donakonda, Chandra Babu turned down Donakonda option. On Saturday, Urban Development Minister P.Narayana told the Assembly that there is no proposal with the government regarding development of Donakonda. With government’s decision, YSRCP leaders are bound to lose crores.
