The Telangana elections bell will be ringing in exactly two weeks from now as we will be nearing the completion of the polling by this hour, in two weeks time.
Coming to the topic, this year’s Telangana polls are seeing a clash of seniors and veterans aged over 70. There are a handful of 70+ years old MLA candidates in the coming election.
Vanama Venkateswara Rao, 79 is the senior most candidate in this year’s election. He is contesting from Kothagudem. He planned to field his son Raghava in the election but this came crashing down as the latter was jailed in a case.
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, 74, has been serving as the speaker of Telangana since 2019. The veteran is contesting from Banswada.
Indrakiran Reddy, 74 is BRS’s candidate from Nirmal and he is a proven leader as he won twice as an MP and four times as an MLA. He is back in the MLA race this time.
Marri Sasidhar Reddy, another 74 year old is also in the MLA race this time around. He is in contention from Sanathnagar on BJP ticket.
Ramreddy Damodhar Reddy, 71, is contesting from Suryapet constituency, where he had won 5 times already and became a minister on two occasions. He is contesting on Congress ticket.
