Ahead of the fierce Summer and the looming threat of Power Cuts, Telangana government got its act right at the right time. The Telangana Transco on Monday successfully installed and test charged two new 400 KV feeder bays at the 400 KV Dichpally sub-station. The transmission line from Wardha – Dichapally is also complete.

This will ensure that Telangana gets power from the power surplus Chhattisgarh. With this, Telangana is ready to receive power from the 765 kV Nizamabad substation under the Wardha Hyderabad transmission scheme. These two discoms will receive 1000 MW power from Chattisgarh in the second week of March.
KCR had signed the power purchase agreement with Chhattisgarh in September 2015 but could not use that as there are no power transmission lines. Work on the 400 kv Maheshwaram sub-station and the connected lines, which hold the key to availing power supply from Chhattisgarh state is also likely to complete by April and would help Telangana to battle power woes in Summer.
Wardha-Dichpally and Warangal-Varora Power Lines when completed will ensure that power can be received and supplied between the southern grid and the new grid. As a result, Telangana will be easy access of power across the country.
